The Manufacturing Production Manager is a key member of the site Leadership Team.  He/she leads the production functions, and works in conjunction with supply chain, quality, engineering, maintenance, and customer service to ensure quality product is delivered to customers on time. 

The manufacturing operations are plastics extrusion high-volume continuous manufacturing.  The facility is 50,000 square feet.  The equipment is primarily 10 extrusion lines, coilers/winders, and drying/cooling.  The position will work primarily during day shift Monday to Friday with 20% flexibility to oversee the night and weekend shifts.  Operations run 4 shifts that cover 24x7.  The position is specifically in Doraville, GA which is the Greater Atlanta Area. 

With direction from the Operations Manager, the key objective is to implement and execute a more structured approach to production management than the current approach.  ITW 80/20, Lean, and Six Sigma principles/tools will be implemented.  The result will be improved quality and productivity by reducing scrap and customer returns.


Production, Warehouse & Transportation

  • Oversees the production process and manages teams
  • Oversees tactical site purchasing, receiving, warehousing, and shipping functions
  • Ensures that all product shipped meets high quality standards and is delivered on time
  • Establishes production lines schedules and manages inventories against targets
  • Ensures production lines are setup correctly per established standards
  • Monitors production entry and ensures data entered into systems is correct and complete
  • Optimizes/trains ERP applications and drive consistency across the site
  • Works with managers to implement company policies and goals
  • Ensures that health and safety guidelines are followed

Team Development

  • Leads and coaches Team Managers and operators on identifying and addressing skill gaps and training needs
  • Continuously reviews staffing needs and makes recommendation to upper management on changes
  • Creates and coordinates ongoing operations training and certification plans
  • Establishes and executes strong day/month/year goals and conducts annual reviews of team performance

Continuous Improvement

  • Leads continuous improvement regarding safety, quality, delivery, efficiency and the environment
  • Understands, implements, and coaches ITW 80/20 principles, tools, and improvement projects



  • 7+ years progressive experience in a factory manufacturing operations environment
  • 3+ years supervisory and/or leadership experience preferably with production associates
  • Proven self-directed leadership with Continuous Improvement systems including improving quality and productivity by reducing scrap and customer returns through developing/implementing/executing structured problem solving, standard work methods, operator training & certification, 5s & visual management, set-up reduction, quality control plans, and manpower planning
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data analytics within Microsoft Excel, ERP Systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably engineering/technical, or business
  • Personal attributes including strong leadership presence, high-energy, detail oriented


  • Proven experience working with sophisticated business systems and processes including ITW 80/20, Toyota Production System, Danaher, etc
  • Professional Certifications including Lean; ASQ CSSBB; APICS CPIM, CSCP
  • Plastics extrusion high-volume continuous manufacturing that includes working with extruder equipment, coilers/winders, dies, and profile forming
