Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will report to the Global Operations Director and will be responsible for maintaining and improving all global processes and equipment including process equipment, production process design, production flow, tooling, Capex, materials, testing, and packaging. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will oversee all aspects of Manufacturing & Process Engineering. This leader will play a large role in training and managing a team of Manufacturing, Electrical, and Packaging Engineers. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will also be responsible for equipment and process specification & procurement, standard work definition, PLC programming, die procurement & maintenance, process auditing compliance, and troubleshooting as well as Multi-Site Capital Equipment strategy and planning.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the manufacturing engineering team to support company 80/20 expectations with excellence in Inlining, PLS, USa, and world-class manufacturing
  • Lead development of the budgets and plans necessary to implement special or complex equipment which meets global capacity plans and customer expectations
  • Maintain and guide LRP Capex planning for facilities as well as high-level equipment maintenance planning
  • Assure process ability to produce quality parts and maintain process capability
  • Establish baseline performance for products that are supplier designed
  • Aid in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Multisite Manufacturing Roadmap strategy and standardization activities
  • Maintain accuracy of BOM, materials specifications, packaging, and work routings as well as production standards
  • Assure proper development and implementation of equipment-related safety policies and quality policies
  • Adhere to waste reduction implementation in both scrap product/material and machine/personnel time

Continuous Improvement

  • Systematically apply Root Cause Corrective Action
  • Evaluate and manage changes for all manufacturing processes and support design and process changes of existing products required by internal or external customers either locally or globally
  • Propose, evaluate, and manage Cost Reduction activities and other value propositions in current production or new products
  • Create and maintain a Manufacturing 'Lessons Learned' database and ensure Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Automation, and Maintenance access and utilization

Product Management and Development

  • Confirm the product designs proposed by Product Development are feasible for manufacturing within budget through direct consultation with Product Management and Manufacturing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to update all relevant engineering drawings and specifications relative to Operations
  • Lead internal launch and manufacturing reviews and product knowledge transfer to the Operations team during Project Launch phases
  • Participate in regular discussions with external customers, Product Management, Product Designers, and Innovations Engineering team

Talent Management & Development

  • Manage a team of approximately 4 employees
  • Identify, manage and develop talent to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness.  Fosters a culture of engagement and accountability
  • Coach through feedback, development planning and performance management
  • Provide training to new and existing staff and support them in their career goals
  • Use effective change management skills to effectively to plan, implement and evaluate change

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering required, Master’s Degree a plus
  • 7+ years of people leadership experience managing a direct team
  • Demonstrated capability to manage and improve manufacturing processes
  • Must possess excellent communication/interpretation skills, good visual & mechanical skills for assessing functionality of equipment, solid mathematical skills, above minimal computer skill set, and critical reasoning ability
  • Lean experience required, 6 Sigma a plus
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Effective problem resolution skills combined with 'big picture’ awareness
  • Must be able to lift to 35 lbs. on occasion

Travel <30% domestically and internationally
