Description

This is a Business Unit Manager role for a Fortive company, leading their Automotive Diagnostics Business. This is a SAAS offering, which today is about $50M of their $500M business.  This is a new role within their organization reporting directly to the VP. Its new because their automotive diagnostic product has evolved and has become a product that is and will continue to grow and be a big part of their future. This person will direct the saas product and marketing teams.

  • Map market and develop/refine expectations for winning strategy to establish leadership position in diagnostic software and service offering
  • Develop and executes a product segment strategy and plan with respect to new product development; price/margin realization; sales, margin, and expense forecast
  • Cultivates partnerships with key third parties
  • Develop business model and collaborate with sales leadership to execute sales strategy and make required adjustments to go to market
  • Develop and execute new product plan in support of target market segment plan. Components to include: Product specifications based on Voice of Customer for the targeted market; three years unit sales; pricing; required capital expenditures; introduction schedule; return on investment; competitive comparisons; and the marketing plan and positioning strategy
  • In cooperation with Engineering, IT and third parties, manage the product development process for both new and existing products across all market segments for assigned product lines
  • Establish market price of assigned products. Consult with sales, finance and manufacturing for most effective and profitable pricing of products
  • Collaborate with MarCom and promotional teams to commercialize products
  • Serve as a resource to sales during field visits and customer meetings
  • Responsible to ensure that product training efforts of internal and external customers are consistent with product segment objectives and positioning
  1. Recommend patent action and direct international trademark application and enforcement for products
  2. Collaborate with executive staff on potential inorganic strategy to achieve growth targets
  3. Other duties, as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of product management or related experience required OR
    • MBA with 3+ years of relevant experience
    • Experience with services or software is a plus
